Monthly community poetry event
(3rd Tuesdays)
(3rd Tuesdays)
Poetry at Olive's is a monthly community poetry event, held in an appealing, relaxed setting at Olive's Café, 40 Elm Hill, Norwich. It provides a forum to encourage local writers of poetry and fiction of all styles – both published and unpublished - to read their work in public. Open Mic is there for all comers to read one poem or one short piece of prose per event.
Writers may apply to do a longer slot (20 minutes). All applications are taken seriously. Please contact us. We would also like to hear from musicians (instrumentalists) who are interested in playing a musical interlude.
From time to time we run special themed nights, e.g. readings from Shakespeare and Victorian Christmas.
