JOIN US ON ZOOM !
Our next virtual open-mic session is on Tuesday February 16th
This may be a themed night or it may not (we haven't decided yet). Nevertheless, whatever you've got, bring it on!  Want to be there? Just use this link* to ask our organiser Hilary Stanton to provide you with the zoom login details.  If you'd like an open-mic slot, make sure to ask Hilary to add you to the reading list.  Places are limited, though, so book now to avoid disappointment.  See you onscreen!

* If the email link above doesn't work for you, please go to our Contact Us page and use the form there to get in touch with Hilary.

Doors 7:30pm (i.e. the zoom meeting will be open for logging in).  Session begins at 8pm.

Now entering its 9th year, Poetry at Jurnet's is a relaxed and informal monthly gathering at which writers of poetry/spoken word and fiction – all forms of creative writing, really – get the chance to perform their work to a roomful of people who like that sort of thing. Open-mic is the bedrock of what we do.

OK... Cards on the table here: we haven't actually got a mic – just a rather characterful venue and a bunch of attentive poetry fans – but when we say 'open', we mean it.  Old hand or first timer, whoever you are and however you identify, we want to hear you!  Just turn up and sign in, and you'll be guaranteed your share of time at the ...er... 'mic'.

Broadly speaking, our calendar of events tends to alternate between evenings that are entirely devoted to open-mic contributions – usually on a pre-determined theme – and events at which we feature a guest writer who typically will perform a couple of sets, generously book-ended by open-mic activity.

A note about our themed evenings:
On these occasions, we invite you to bring along poems related to the chosen theme - but if you haven't got anything that fits, that's not a problem. The theme is just a 'serving suggestion': we want to hear your poems regardless of subject matter.

Additionally, every now and then we hold special evenings: showcase events, book launches etc.  Whatever we're doing, you can always keep up to speed with it by visiting our Coming Events page.

Never been to Poetry at Jurnet's before?  Check out our How To Find Us page ...or you may never find us at all!

All events start at 8pm (arrive earlier if you can) and finish at 10pm
Venue is fully ramped/wheelchair-accessible. Disabled toilets are located across the courtyard.
Cash Bar (i.e. no plastic)
